Treatment System Installation:
Almost 10 years following HCHD's purchase of the mobile medical waste treatment system from Micro-Waste, the HCHD Board of Managers approved purchase and installation at Ben Taub of a new stationary treatment system to be manufactured by Micro-Waste. The system was installed in June 2006. Following completion of HCHD construction of associated dock area modifications, Micro-Waste performed start-up and testing operations allowing treatment of the regulated medical waste (RMW) at Ben Taub. The system is treating the RMW from Ben Taub and other HCHD facilities as allowed by TCEQ regulations. (See Ben Taub Installation)
